Animadoras

This morning, over chocolate cupcakes and fresh squeezed orange juice, my flatmates asked me if cheerleaders, as portrayed in Hollywood movies and teen shows etc., really exist. My answer went something like this- "Yes, cheerleading is a popular sport, it is taken very seriously by some people though mostly at big state universities, where there are big Fraternities, where Football is more important than studying, and some girls get boob jobs to be cheerleaders and it all begins at the highschool level really, where dating the the captain of the football team and being on the cheerleading squad are two of the most important things in a teenage girl“s life, and oh yeah cheerleading also exists at the professional level, such as in the NFL and the NBA."

That is a perfect answer really. Though there was that one movie where cheerleaders carried fake guns and robbed a bank. which i don't believe is the standard. also, i was a cheerleader for a while and i could have easily been even more serious about it. i remember some of the cheers to this day, and sometimes i day dream about ways in which i could make cheerleading more visually inovative with moves and formations and musical chant/cheer rhythms. i guess you could say that rockinroll me still kinda misses it a little. how cute.
